Terms of Use
Terms of Use
Last updated: 6 May 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of aline.guide ("Aline", "the Service"), provided by Strim Mobility, SAS ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service you confirm you have read, understood and accepted these Terms.
1. About the Service
Aline is a voice-first walking guide for the city of Strasbourg, distributed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) accessible at aline.guide. It plays narrated stories along a 17-stop route, includes a custom musical score and offers a conversational AI assistant ("raise hand to ask") that answers questions about the city.
Aline is currently in beta. Features, content and pricing may change at any time.
2. The free tour and the voluntary tip
You may use Aline without payment. After the tour, you are invited — never required — to leave a tip ("pourboire") if the experience was worth it to you. The amount and the very fact of tipping are entirely your choice.
A tip is a gratuity within the meaning of French commercial practice — not consideration for a sale. Because of this:
- there is no minimum tip and no obligation to leave one;
- because tips are voluntary gratuities, they are not refundable once made; if you believe a tip was given in error, contact us within 14 days of the transaction at tours@strim.mobi and we will review the request in good faith;
- tip payments are processed by our payment processor Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Dublin, Ireland) and are subject to that processor's own terms.
3. Who can use Aline
You may use Aline if you can validly enter into these Terms under the law of your country of residence. In France, persons under 15 must have a parent or legal guardian agree to these Terms on their behalf. The Service is suitable for a general audience but the walking route involves public roads and crowds — adult supervision is recommended for younger walkers.
4. The AI assistant — important disclaimers
The "raise hand to ask" feature uses artificial intelligence to answer your questions about Strasbourg. By using it you understand and accept that:
- responses are generated automatically and may be incomplete, outdated, or occasionally incorrect;
- you should not rely on the AI assistant for safety-critical decisions, medical, legal, financial, or emergency information;
- conversations may be retained in anonymized form to improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy;
- you must not attempt to extract, manipulate or abuse the AI for purposes outside of guided cultural conversation, including but not limited to generating illegal, harmful, defamatory or infringing content.
We work to keep the AI helpful and accurate but offer no warranty of fitness for any purpose other than light cultural commentary.
5. Walking safely is your responsibility
Aline is not a tour operator within the meaning of Article L.211-1 of the French Code du tourisme. We do not organize or sell travel, accommodation, transportation, insurance or guided tours led by a person. Aline provides a digital cultural narrative; you walk alone, at your own pace, on your own responsibility.
You agree:
- to obey all local traffic, road and safety rules at all times;
- not to follow Aline's narration into traffic, water, restricted areas or any unsafe situation;
- to monitor your own physical condition (heat, fatigue, weather) and to interrupt the tour at any time;
- to respect private property, religious sites, monuments and other people's privacy along the route.
We strongly recommend wearing only one earphone in busy streets and remaining attentive to your surroundings.
6. Your input to Aline
When you ask Aline a question (text or voice), provide feedback, or send us a testimonial, you grant Strim Mobility a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that input, in anonymized or aggregated form, to operate, evaluate and improve the Service. You retain all rights to your input.
If you record audio or video while walking the tour, you remain solely responsible for that content and for complying with the rights of any other people, places or works that appear in it.
7. Intellectual property
All content created by or for Strim Mobility — narration, voice acting, original music, editorial text, brand identity, the name "Aline", interface design — is protected by intellectual property law and is the exclusive property of Strim Mobility or of its licensors. You may not reproduce, redistribute, broadcast, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer or commercially reuse any part of it without our prior written consent.
You may share short excerpts on personal social media for non-commercial use, with attribution to "@aline.guide" or "aline.guide".
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in any way that violates applicable law;
- use automated tools, scrapers or bots to access the Service or extract its content;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or to other users' data;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, our servers, or the AI assistant;
- impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with us;
- use the Service to harass, defame, threaten or harm any person or group.
We may suspend or terminate access for any user we reasonably believe is violating these Terms.
9. Beta status, availability, and changes
Aline is in active development. We may add, modify, suspend or discontinue any feature or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and we are not liable for outages.
10. Liability
We provide Aline with reasonable skill and care. The Service is offered free of charge for tour content; tipping is voluntary and not consideration for a sale.
Within the limits permitted by applicable law:
- we exclude all implied warranties (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and accuracy of AI-generated content);
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damage, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or loss of reputation;
- our total cumulative liability to you for any claim related to the Service is limited to the total amount of tips you have actually paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty (50) euros, whichever is greater;
- nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under French law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to hold us harmless from any third-party claim arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms or your violation of any law or third-party right, except to the extent such claim is caused by our own fault.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent change. If a change is material, we will inform users through the Service. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to you in your country of residence.
In case of a dispute, we encourage you first to contact us at tours@strim.mobi so that we can try to find an amicable solution within a reasonable timeframe.
If no amicable solution is reached, and in accordance with Articles L.611-1 and following of the French Code de la consommation, you may, free of charge, refer the dispute to MEDICYS (73 boulevard de Clichy, 75009 Paris — https://www.medicys.fr), the consumer mediation service to which Strim Mobility is enrolled. You may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
If mediation does not resolve the dispute, the competent courts shall be those determined by the applicable rules of jurisdiction. Consumers retain the right to bring proceedings before the courts of their place of residence within the European Union.
14. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Mentions Légales, constitute the entire agreement between you and Strim Mobility regarding the Service.
